Captain x Chris took my daughter-in-law salmon fishing in the Sooke area. She had never fished or even caught a fish before. After limiting out on coho she is hooked on fishing.

Our family of 4 had an excellent half day of salmon fishing with Chris. We took home 6 beautiful fish and had a bluebird day on the water. Chris was funny, calm, knowledgable and worked non stop to keep things going smoothly. He had answers for all of our 10 year-olds non stop questions! We would book here again in a second. Looking forward to salmon for supper and more for the freezer.

Had a great morning with Wayne. My son and 2 grandsons had wonderful time. The 5 beautiful crab we added to our catch was the perfect ending. We'll be back soon.

We started the day by dropping a few crab traps, then spent most of our time jigging for halibut before wrapping things up by trolling for salmon. The fishing was fantastic. We landed two monster halibut and, despite it being a bit early in the season, managed to catch a nice-sized salmon as well. Captain Wayne was outstanding. He was incredibly knowledgeable, clearly very experienced, and patiently answered all of our many questions throughout the trip. On top of that, he's just an all-around great guy to spend the day with on the water. We had an absolute blast and can't recommend Full Melt Charters highly enough. The only downside? Now my girlfriend keeps asking why we don't own a boat! Thanks a lot, Wayne. We'll definitely be back!

Although we fish regularly at home, this was our first time targeting halibut, and Full Melt Charters made it an unforgettable experience. From the initial booking and communication through the end of the trip, everything was seamless, and we felt well prepared every step of the way. We met Captain Wayne and Chris at the Crab Shack before heading out for the day. Chris was our guide, and he immediately made us feel comfortable. He took the time to get a sense of our experience level, answered all of our questions, and ensured we were ready for the adventure ahead. We started the day catching dogfish, which was surprisingly fun, before moving on to sablefish, cod, and eventually the mighty halibut. The fishing was fantastic, and we had an incredible time on the water. We truly enjoyed every minute of the trip and are already looking forward to coming back. Thank you, Wayne and Chris, for providing such a great experience!

Great trip out salmon fishing with Wayne at Full Melt Charters. He carefully explained everything at the beginning including how to manage the “knuckle buster” reels when a big chinook hits. Which they did, often! We reached our limit of 4 in less than an hour. Wayne had a good, calm attitude, even when things got a bit crazy. After the chinook limit was reached it was on to pinks, coho AND sockeye (very short surprise opening) and with some luck, we scored them all! Wayne definitely knew the right spots, what lures/bait to use and how to read the water. We even saw humpback whales as an added bonus. It was a great day of fishing and fun. Afterwards, Wayne skillfully and quickly filleted the salmon for us.

Chris was a great captain. He was patient with our boys (8&5) and everyone had giant smiles when they returned! Ended up catching 3 salmon and 13 crab (kept 5 of them) yum!

My family and I had a great experience with Wayne. He did such a great job explaining everything and what to expect. Very professional, fun, and got us in lots of fish. The action was non-stop. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great day of fishing, I can’t wait to get back.

Couldn’t have asked for a better day on the water. We picked up some salmon, loaded up on crab, and Chris shared a ton of insight about the area and local salmon stocks. The ride back got rough, but he handled it like a pro—calm, confident, and clearly experienced. All around, an excellent trip.

The Van Herring delivered, and so did our skipper Chris. The boat was great, and Chris kept us laughing between bites. Communication before the trip was smooth—Wayne and Chris even adjusted our schedule to work around the weather, which we really appreciated. We got into some solid action, landed a couple of salmon, wrestled with a seal, and wrapped up with a pot full of crabs for dinner. Great times with a top-notch crew. Hoping to return this fall—cheers!
